TOP PARKS – RIVERVIEW TOURIST VILLAGE – KATHERINE, NT

A fantastic caravan park right beside a natural Hot Springs in the middle of the Northern Territory, who wouldn’t want to stay here!!!!

We had 3 nights here and it was a great place to explore and enjoy Katherine and it’s surrounding tours and attractions. There is heaps of great things to check out, Gorge tours, Hot springs, waterfalls and shows. A fantastic outback town that has plenty to offer if you stay for a few days and check it all out.

The Katherine Hot Springs are only a short stroll out the back gate and they are a great place to soak for a few hours every morning. Be sure to check out the Top pool as its a lot deeper and clearer than the lazy river down the bottom.

The park itself is well laid out with a range of accommodation to cater for your needs. From unpowered camping, powered caravan sites, cabins and a motel they are all fantastic. Plenty of trees around provide everyone with some shade to escape the heat of the Territory’s rays. The Resort style pool is a great area to cool off and relax after a big day exploring.

A unique feature of the Riverview Tourist Village is the murals painted around the park. There are some fantastic landscapes and great portraits of the local wildlife so be sure to look out for them while your here.

Just next door is , “The Barra Cafe”. A great place to head out and grab dinner one night while your here. A fantastic chef in the kitchen whips up beautiful meals and the place has a great atmosphere with the whole place painted in scenic murals of the local landscapes.

Only 10 minutes out of Katherine town centre, you will find the, “KATHERINE OUTBACK EXPERIENCE”. This is an amazing show that gives you great insight into how horses are trained and broken in for outback cattle stations. You will see horses and working dogs, ducks, goats, pigs and cows and of course, Tom Curtain playing country music on Horseback. Its a great mix of entertainment, information and fun. Definitely check it out when your passing through!
