MISSION BEACH FUN!! TROPICAL NORTH QUEENSLAND
We’ve arrived in the beautiful tropical destination of Mission Beach.
Situated smack bang in-between Cairns and Townsville. Only 1.5hrs from either. We have based ourselves at the BIG4 Beachcomber Coconut Holiday Park in South Mission Beach which is right on the water. A surf club across the road for safe beach swimming and a great hire business where you can get anything from kayaks to jet skis and hit the water for some fun!
The humidity is starting to kick in around Tropical North QLD (it is the 1st of October) , so the resort style pool here at the BIG4 is pure heaven. With a kiddie pool for toddlers and a water slide for older kids, our three were very much entertained. Bribery definitely comes into play when we decide it’s time to leave. A playground on site, plenty of room for the kids to ride their bikes and the wandering Cassowary’s to watch keep us all happy. Only 50m from our site is the beach, so we grab a coffee from the caravan parks cafe and head down for a morning dip! Its a patrolled beach on the weekends, so we feel very safe from stingers and the big lizards.

Some family fun at the Mission Beach markets
If you’re an adventure seeker, you can take a trip out to Dunk Island , a reef trip or fishing charter to the Great Barrier Reef or Skydive and land on the sands of Mission Beach. Plenty of activities to see and do, or just take in the scenery and relax by the beach or pool at the Beachcomber Coconut Holiday Park . With plenty of accommodation options to choose from with great cabins and bungalows and some massive powered slab sites, it’s worth your while booking in here when you plan your stay at Mission Beach.
