INGENIA HOLIDAYS BIG4 CAIRNS COCONUT HOLIDAY RESORT
After a few months across the Top End of Australia and a quick trip down the centre to Uluru, we were excited to hit Cairns and see some beautiful coastline again! The weather has been absolutely mint and there is so much to see and do.
We’ve based ourselves at Cairns Coconut Holiday Resort and can’t recommend it highly enough. It really is the epitome of a family friendly resort! Our first stop after checking in was a great coffee from the cafe on site, we parked up in a lush and shady site, fully landscaped with palm trees and ferns. The kids were mad keen to head to the splash park and burn some energy after our big day driving. So after a quick set-up, off we went to tire out our 3 devils
Never fear if you don’t own a caravan, the resort has accommodation to suit everyone’s needs with condo’s, villa’s, units and cabins that are all immaculately presented just like the rest of the park.
The resort is centrally located to everything you need in Cairns, it’s a great place to get any repairs done, restock on all your shopping needs and groceries and plan for the next stage of your travels. If you can manage to drag the kids away from the resort, there is so many attractions on offer. Reef trips for snorkelling and fishing, the Kuranda Rail and skyrail loop is a must and the lagoon on the foreshore in Cairns City is a winner with most tourists. Fresh produce is everywhere up here and its great to get some fruit that lasts longer than a few days before it goes off.
Back at Cairns Coconut we spend plenty of time on the jumping pillows, huge playground, indoor toddler playground and resort style pool. Justin and I even manage a couple of sessions at the free gym here AND they even put on a free sausage sizzle for Father’s Day.
There is loads of activities on around the park and it’s the ultimate location for a family holiday! The best part for our kids was the water park, we spent countless hours here relaxing as the kids tore it up on the slides.
We’ve only had a few days to explore but we’ll be back in a Cairns in a few weeks to explore some more of whats on offer in the amazing Tropical North Queensland.
You really do need several weeks here to check out everything, this part of the country is loaded with hidden gems and with its relaxed atmosphere and fantastic weather, its definitely on our list of places we might just end up living!!!
Check out the Resorts website for more info and to make a booking.
Cheers – Justin and Bec
