DISCOVERY PARKS BIG4 – PORT HEDLAND, WA

After being amongst the Red dirt in the Gorgeous Karijini, Port Hedland was a welcoming visit. It was fantastic to get on a big powered site, have a long hot shower, get some much needed washing done and stock up on groceries (yessss a Woolies!!) What a great place to stay whether your heading North to Broome, South to the Coral Coast or East to Karijini National Park, this park is absolutely perfect with the beach on one side and a beaut little creek on the other.

With Great amenities and all the shops you need close by it’s a good stop to prepare you for more travels. The staff here are fantastic and do a great job keeping everything looking schmick with all the travellers passing through.

Its a busy little park with loads of travellers stopping in, so its very social and a great place to meet people and talk all thing’s Caravanning Australia. The kids playground and pool was great for our little ones and a good way to make sure they are all worn out and ready for an early bedtime.. 

There are some great things to do around Port Hedland, with a Harbour Tour of the Mining ships and a great Foreshore to check out being very Popular.  Some top fishing spots are available as well if your keen to try your luck with the Spoilbank being the most popular in town. The creek behind the caravan park also holds a good chance of getting a jack or trevally on the right tide.

We Loved our few nights here at Discovery BIG4 Port Hedland. We are slowly heading north now on our way to Broome and looking forward to checking out all the free camps and station stays on the way there.
