BRIDPORT SEASIDE CARAVAN PARK- TASMANIA

TWO KILOMETRES OF BEACHFRONT CARAVAN AND CAMPING WITH A PUB AND A GROCERY STORE ACROSS THE ROAD!!

HOW BLOODY GOOD IS THAT!!!!!

When you check in here at the Bridport Seaside Caravan Park, you will be greeted by a champion bloke called, “Rodney”.  If there was a competition for the friendliest park manager in Australia, we want to nominate him for the prize! So many great sites to choose from along the length of this park & all of them only a short stroll to the calm clear waters of Bridport’s beaches.

Large grassy sites, free herb gardens and a foreshore walking trail that runs for 2km along the beach are just a few extras you get while staying here. The park has an excellent camp kitchen, plenty of amenities blocks throughout and just about every site has a water view! There is also a fantastic kids playground (with a flying fox) just next door for the kids to run amuck.

Straight out the front of our site were some great little waves on the low tide. Awesome if you carry a standup or a longboard. Dad & the kids had hours of fun catching the little left handers that were rolling through and the water was the warmest we have come across in Tassie.

Head out for dinner one night & grab a delicious feed from the “Bunker” which is the Return Services Club. Make sure you make a booking as it’s a popular spot for locals and tourists. Just across from the caravan park is a great cafe where you can grab breakfast or a coffee before you set off for some 4×4 action up the beach!

The Bridport to Bellingham 4WD track is a great day trip. The track which is mostly sand was in pretty good condition. We dropped our tyres to 15psi and the Mazda BT50 handled it real well. The dunes are a whole of heap fun and the beaches you come across along this stretch of coastline are just beautiful. We even managed to nearly run over a seal!! It appeared out of nowhere and was relaxing on the sand. Pretty cool to see and the kids were wrapped!

Take a short trip down the the road to, “The Lost Farm” & “Barnbougle” golf club and walk through the dunes to find yet another great beach to spend a few hours. Be sure to grab a few pics at the old log tunnel through the dunes.

There is a few more attractions to see while your here. The Bridestowe Lavender Farm and Pipers Brook winery. We didn’t make it to see the lavender as they had just harvested a few weeks earlier so the fields of purple flowers were no more.(something to check before you drive out there). The winery was different to others we have seen, the access road takes you through the vines before reaching the winery which has a food truck outside. You can also free camp here in the paddock next to the winery.

Our 3 nights in Bridport were wonderful and we highly recommend putting it on your list of caravan parks to stay at while touring Tasmania. Heaps to see around the area and the beachside location of the Bridport Caravan Park is the perfect place to stay while you explore!!
