BIG4 MacDonnell Range Holiday Park – Alice Springs

So we are on our way down the centre of Australia, headed for Uluru – Ayers Rock!

We have come across quite the surprise in the town of Alice Springs and the BIG4 MacDonnell Range Holiday Park. Before we arrived into Alice, we were not thinking of it as the second largest town in the Territory. We thought it was going to be a quick stopover to refresh and stock up on groceries before we headed down to The Rock.

How happy we are that we had booked in for 4 nights. And here’s a few reasons why –

A Fantastic Pool and Waterslide Complex – Does it get much better than an awesome pool and a waterslide? This is an absolute ripper and it has been a real winner with not only our kids, but i think just about everyone in the caravan park comes hooting down this slide. Our kids spent hours each day racing up the stairs and zooming down the slide, meeting lots of little friends as well. It has been the BEST!!

More facilities than you can poke a stick at!!

If the kids have still got energy after the hours of waterslide fun, then there is a BMX track, games room, tv room, playgrounds and of course Jumping Pillows! Its an absolute paradise here for the kids and adults alike. We have spent four night here and were planning to do some sightseeing around the area and we haven’t managed to venture further than the main street of town.  Haha.

Such a social and active atmosphere! From wine and cheese nights, didgereedoo music, kids movie nights and of course the Famous Sunday Pancake breakfast, the BIG4 really turns it on for its guests and has something to cater for all ages.  With a newly opened gym as well, this park is right up there with the best we have seen around Oz.

It has been such a nice, relaxing change for us to just chill out and enjoy the facilities here at BIG4 MacDonnell Ranges Holiday Park.  We will be back and we will definitely be planning a 2 week stay to let us experience a lot more of what Alice Springs has to offer.

The Park is located in a great position only a few minutes drive from town via the Stuart Highway. Its surrounded by a mountain range that provides some great sunsets and a good outlook from your camp site. With all types of accommodation to suit everyones needs from camping to cabins, you need to check this place out on your way through!

We were lucky enough that the ,”Henley on Todd Regatta” was on the same weekend we stayed, so we got to check out this wild and whacky race thats been happening for over 60 years. A great day out of the whole family and a good laugh as well.

We are now off to Uluru and looking forward to some amazing sunsets and epic photographs. Stay tuned for more adventures.

Cheers – Justin and Bec
